America Ferrera

Ohkay, do this chick is proboably one of my biggest instpirations. She's never really sold out and always seems very sweet and level-headed, plus, I think she's very inspiring as a Latino-American woman. As the baby of 6 chikldren, America Ferrera, grew up in Los Angeles though her parents arte originally from Honduras. Her mother raised all 6 children alone after divorcing her husband and always urged her children to have goals and dreams. She first starred in Gotta Kick It Up! on Disney channel in 2002 (C'mon, I think we all have to admit we loved this movie, especially with its catchy mantra of 'SI SE PUEDE!' (Yes We Can)) She then played a small role in Lords of Dogtown which is a great, very raw movie about the evolution of skateboarding and some of the most influential guys in skateboarding. In that same year, she starred in the gorgeous, touching, Real Women Have Curves, based on the play by Josefina Lopez, of the same name. Its seriously, up there on my list of movies you need to see. If you hav'nt seen it, do. And if you have, watch it again. She's also Betty Suarez on Ugly Betty (Its a wonder how they make her look "ugly", seeing as how she's so beautiful.)
Hullo there! Well, alot of things have been swimming in my mind lately like how I'm so busy! Tomorrow, I have Cello after school and then have to go volunteer at the library and then Tuesday I have a school field trip to some caves with my favorite Aussie chick! And then, I have . . . SOLO AND ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL!!! So, I have this GORGEOUS song that I'm performing in front of judges and hopefully a few people :P and then get judged on it! If I get an especially high score, I get letter points for choir, which I soo desperately neeeeed, and go on to a next round of competition. And that because of said high score, I'm hoping to recieve massive respect by this Junior who is absolutely Choir Princess of the school. And she's nice, and sweet and all, but I plan on taking over the throne at latest, by the time she graduates. And then, hmmm not sure, HOPING for a snowday. and next week, I have auditions for Cinderella at school! Wish me luckk, Mariana:)

Power Women

I have lots of role models. Lots of women, I admire, wish were my friends, or simply wish I looked like. So I think I'm going to do a series on these women. Have a picture, bio, and why I lov them. Those on my list so far are: Kat Von D, America Ferrera, Wonder Woman, Michelle Obama, Audrey Hepburn, Edie Sedgwick, Taylor Swift, Natalie Wood, Sojourner Truth, Mandy Moore, and many others. HOPE YOU ENJOY!

A Poem.

Assignment: Write a poem

My Masterpiece*

He HAS to be somewhere out there
Woody Allen's glasses, shaggy hair, witty T-Shirts
Willing to go to operas and watch Michael Moore movie marathons
Make me laugh and just. . . talk
Willing to tolerate me
Somewhere out there is someone I have yet to meet
That'll make my life complete
College, will we stumble upon one another while humming Rhapsody In Blue?
Or at school. Another teacher like I?
I know he's somewhere. Somewhere out there.

*If you happen to fit all the mentioned criteria listed above, are a boy, mature, older than me, a democrat, and not creepy or hideous, please marry me.
